The legislation makes it mandatory upstream traceability (registration of all products and raw materials used in the composition of wine ) and the downstream traceability (implementation of batch numbers for finished wines).

Internal traceability is not required (yet!) by the legislator, but it is extremely interesting for the producer. It provides a history of each wine and each vintage which it can refer to trace the origin of a fault appeared on the finished wine or to make a technical decision in the current campaign.
